Abstract This data set contains images acquired by the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera during the CRUISE 4-1 mission phase
Description Data Set Overview = This data set contains science, calibration and checkout images acquired by the OSIRIS Wide Angle Camera system on the Rosetta mission. The images were acquired during the CRUISE 4-1 mission phase covering the period from 2008-01-28 to 2008-08-04. The images are CODMAC level 3. The CRUISE-4A mission phase was used for instrument checkout. The dataset covers the following discrete activities: ---------------------------------------------------Activity: IFSW_Update6 of type: IFSW_UPDATE Period from: 2008-02-14 to: 2008-02-14 Observations: IFSW_Update6 ---------------------------------------------------Activity: Shutter Test 20080305 of type: SHUTTER_TEST Period from: 2008-03-05 to: 2008-03-05 Observations: Shutter Test 20080305 ---------------------------------------------------Activity: Shutter Test 20080319 of type: SHUTTER_TEST Period from: 2008-03-19 to: 2008-03-19 Observations: Shutter Test 20080319 ---------------------------------------------------Activity: PC8-SR99A of type: SHUTTER_TEST Period from: 2008-07-11 to: 2008-07-11 Observations: PC8-SR99A ---------------------------------------------------Activity: PC8 of type: ACTIVE_CHECKOUT Period from: 2008-07-12 to: 2008-07-26 Observations: Steins: Navigation Slot 115:30 01-Jul-09 PC8: Bias and Darks I PC8: 58 Aql Stellar Calibration PC8: Interference Campaign I: Emmisive PC8: Solar Straylight Test PC8: 16 Cyg Stellar Calibration PC8: Jupiter Calibration PC8: Area 98 Geometric Calibration ---------------------------------------------------Essential Reading ----------------The following documents, located on the dataset DOCUMENT folder, are essential for the understanding and interpretation of this data set: OSIRIS_SSR.PDF: Gives an overview of the science goals of the OSIRIS instrument and an overview of the instrument hardware. The spacecraft carries a Rosetta Lander, named Philae, to the nucleus and deploys it onto its surface. A brief description of the mission and its objectives can be found in the Rosetta Science Management Plan [RO-EST-PL-0001] and in papers [GLASSMEIERETAL2007A]. A detailed description of the mission analysis can be found in the Consolidated Report on Mission Analysis [RO-ESC-RP-5500], the ROSETTA User Manual [RO-DSS-MA-1001], and the flight Operations Plan [RO-ESC-PL-50...
