Abstract This data set contains images acquired by the OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera during the COMMISSIONING mission phase
Description Data Set Overview = This data set contains science, calibration and checkout images acquired by the OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera system on the Rosetta mission. The images were acquired during the COMMISSIONING mission phase covering the period from 2004-03-05 to 2004-10-17. The images are CODMAC level 2. The COMMISSIONING mission phase was used for the initial instrument checkout after launch. The phase was subdivided into several discrete operational periods. The instrument checkout was performed in the Slot1, Slot2, Slot2b and Slot3 (See below). The mission phase also included a number of payload cross calibration activities. These activities were performed during the Pointing Campaign and the Interference Campaign. The dataset covers the following discrete activities: ---------------------------------------------------Activity: CVP_Slot1 of type: COMMISSIONING Period from: 2004-03-12 to: 2004-03-12 Observations: CVP_Slot1 ---------------------------------------------------Activity: CVP_Slot2 of type: COMMISSIONING Period from: 2004-04-27 to: 2004-05-01 Observations: CVP_Slot2 ---------------------------------------------------Activity: CVP_Slot2B of type: COMMISSIONING Period from: 2004-06-03 to: 2004-06-05 Observations: CVP_Slot2B ---------------------------------------------------Activity: IFSW_Update1 of type: IFSW_UPDATE Period from: 2004-09-05 to: 2004-09-05 Observations: IFSW_Update1 ---------------------------------------------------Activity: CVP_Slot3 of type: COMMISSIONING Period from: 2004-09-14 to: 2004-09-18 Observations: CVP_Slot3 ---------------------------------------------------Activity: Interference Campaign of type: COORDINATED_SCIENCE Period from: 2004-09-20 to: 2004-09-20 Observations: Interference Campaign ---------------------------------------------------Activity: Pointing Campaign of type: COORDINATED_SCIENCE Period from: 2004-09-23 to: 2004-09-30 Observations: Pointing Campai...

The spacecraft carries a Rosetta Lander, named Philae, to the nucleus and deploys it onto its surface. A brief description of the mission and its objectives can be found in the Rosetta Science Management Plan [RO-EST-PL-0001] and in papers [GLASSMEIERETAL2007A]. A detailed description of the mission analysis can be found in the Consolidated Report on Mission Analysis [RO-ESC-RP-5500], the ROSETTA User Manual [RO-DSS-MA-1001], and the flight Operations Plan [RO-ESC-PL-50...
