Abstract This data set contains CODMAC level 3 data acquired by the Rosetta Orbiter ALICE UV Spectrometer during the Cruise 5 mission phase, which took place between 2009-12-14 and 2010-06-06, and includes Payload Checkout #12.
Description Required Reading The format of all Alice data are described in detail by the EAICD document located in the /DOCUMENT directory. In addition, the Rosetta Alice logbook file, RA_LOGBOOK_NNN.ASC, also located in the DOCUMENT directory provides observational details such as observation target, commanded exposure time, etc., for all Alice data. The Alice team strongly recommends reading this documentation before using the data. Data Set Overview = This data set contains calibrated data acquired by the Rosetta Orbiter ALICE UV Spectrometer during the Cruise 5 mission phase, which took place between 2009-12-14 and 2010-06-06, and includes Payload Checkout #12. A detailed listing of all Alice observations is given in the observation log file located in the DOCUMENT directory. The following Alice observations were made during the period covered by this data set: # 2010-02-04: Flight Software v2.07 upload to EEPROMs 0, 1, 2 # (already loaded to EEPROM3 during PC10) # 2010-03-22: Parameter refresh and context save # (necessary because Alice context was lost on s/c when ESA did a SSMM refresh) # Payload Checkout #12 (PC12) # 2010 April 22 - May 15 # Alice activity overview: # * 2010 Apr 22 08:00 - AL01 (passive checkout; 2 hr) # * 2010 Apr 22 10:00 - AL02A (initial decontamination; 25 hr, 22hr heater + 3hr cooldown) # * 2010 Apr 23 17:40 - AL03C (Cal Star, Narrow Center [HD 43153]; 4 hr) # * 2010 Apr 23 22:40 - AL03B (Cal Star, Narrow Center [zet Cas]; 1 hr) # * 2010 Apr 24 00:40 - AL11 (solar stray light cal; 14 hr 05 min) # * 2010 Apr 28 00:00 - AL10A (upset frequency test [EEPROM_0]; 24 hr) # * 2010 Apr 30 20:00 - AL03A (Cal Star, Narrow Center [Vega]; 1 hr) # * 2010 Apr 30 21:15 - AL12 (boresight cal, cross-slit scan [Vega]; 1 hr) # * 2010 Apr 30 22:40 - AL09A/B/C (alignment with OSIRIS [Vega]; 4 hr 6 min) # * 2010 May 02 11:30 - AL10B (upset frequency test [EEPROM_1]; 24 hr) # * 2010 May 05 ...

The spacecraft carries a Rosetta Lander, named Philae, to the nucleus and deploys it onto its surface. A brief description of the mission and its objectives can be found in the Rosetta Science Management Plan [RO-EST-PL-0001] and in papers [GLASSMEIERETAL2007A]. A detailed description of the mission analysis can be found in the Consolidated Report on Mission Analysis [RO-ESC-RP-5500], the ROSETTA User Manual [RO-DSS-MA-1001], and the flight Operations Plan [RO-ESC-PL-50...
