Abstract This data set contains observations of the comet 67P/C-G taken by various Earth based telescopes, in support of Rosetta mission (i.e. from January 2014 to the end of the mission in September 2016), using SPECTROSCOPY (SPEC). The data in this dataset are calibrated.
Description Dataset Overview ---------------------------------------------------------------------A worldwide Earth based observing campaign was performed during the Rosetta mission dedicated to the observation of the 67P comet. During the campaign, several techniques were used. One of them is SPECTROSCOPY (SPEC). This archive is about SPEC observations that allow to make connections between Rosetta in-situ, local, SPEC observations (for example with the VIRTIS instrument) and larger scale SPEC data. The data are uncompressed in .FIT format, with a set of predefined keywords to ensure that all the information are present. Data present in the DATA directory have been simply reduced (basic reduction steps such as bias and dark soustraction and flat correction in very most cases). The reduction process can be performed by the user him/herself using the uncalibrated data and the calibration files provided in the EAR-C-MULTI-2-67P-SPEC-V1.0 dataset. Supplementary information are given there. The user of this data shall ensure that the observers name(s) and/or PIs name(s) located in the OBSERVER_FULL_NAME keyword in every *.LBL file is/are properly credited. The OBSERVING_NOTES.TXT files in each DATA directory summarize this information. The project is led by Colin Snodgrass (University of Edinburgh, UK) and is implemented by Nicolas Ligier (Open University, UK).
