Description we propose to take near ir spectroscopy of a selected sample of sources from the two micron galactic survey (tmgs) catalogue which are located in the central inner bulge of the milky way. the aim of this proposal is to investigate what is the dominant stellar population in this region. by means of the tmgs catalogue we have selected a list of highly luminous near-ir objects, previously undetected, which are strong candidates to be situated in the inner bulge of the galactic centre, and whose spectral type and luminosity class determination form the primary objective of this proposal.

Mission Description The Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) was the world's first true orbiting infrared observatory. Equipped with four highly-sophisticated and versatile scientific instruments, it was launched by Ariane in November 1995 and provided astronomers world-wide with a facility of unprecedented sensitivity and capabilities for a detailed exploration of the Universe at infrared wavelengths.
