Abstract MAXI J1813-095 was discovered as a new transient by MAXI on 2018 February 19 and its position confirmed by Swift/XRT on February 20th. The source is mildly absorbed (N_H ~ 1.3e22) and shows a hard power-law in XRT (Gamma ~ 1.45). No source has been previously known at these coordinates. The source is likely an X-ray binary, but for its exact nature broad-band spectra are necessary. INTEGRAL is crucial to obtain the high-energy spectrum, a determine if the continuum rolls over and to measure the cutoff energy. This will narrow down the nature of the source (accreting black hole or neutron star, white dwarf, X-ray burster, etc.). Furthermore, by obtaining one revolution with INTEGRAL we will be able to investigate the timing behaviour and check for X-ray bursts or dips and coherent pulsations.

Version 1.0
Mission Description The INTEGRAL (International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory) mission, launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) on October 17, 2002, was designed to study high-energy phenomena in the universe. INTEGRAL was operating until february 2025 and it was equipped with three high-energy instruments: the Imager on Board the INTEGRAL Satellite (IBIS), the Spectrometer on INTEGRAL (SPI), and the JEM-X (Joint European Monitor for X-rays). Its Optical Monitoring Camera (OMC) provided optical V-band magnitude measurements, complementing the high-energy observations.
