Title Public TOO observations of V0332+53

Abstract We propose to perform TOO observations of the transient X-ray pulsar V0332+53 in the subcritical regime (never observed before). The purpose of these observations is to measure the cyclotron line energy in this lowest observable state. The INTEGRAL measurements will be used jointly with our NuSTAR/Swift/XMM-Newton program for searching the critical luminosity in X-ray pulsars. To reconstruct the broad-band spectrum accurately we ask about the entire INTEGRAL revolution (~170 ksec) with the hexagonal dither pattern. The expected source flux is about 15-20 mCrab in the 17-60 keV energy band. Due to limitations of the source visibility with INTEGRAL and the flux decay we ask to perform observatiosn asap (preferably in the revolution 1596)

Mission Description The INTEGRAL (International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory) mission, launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) on October 17, 2002, was designed to study high-energy phenomena in the universe. INTEGRAL was operating until february 2025 and it was equipped with three high-energy instruments: the Imager on Board the INTEGRAL Satellite (IBIS), the Spectrometer on INTEGRAL (SPI), and the JEM-X (Joint European Monitor for X-rays). Its Optical Monitoring Camera (OMC) provided optical V-band magnitude measurements, complementing the high-energy observations.
