Abstract We propose a long, 600 ks, INTEGRAL observation with multiwavelength supporting observations to test models for the nuclear jet emission in the nearest radio galaxy, Centaurus A, by constructing a detailed spectral energy distribution (SED) ranging from radio through gamma ray bands. The emphasis will be to extend present X-ray results into the hundreds of keV and MeV range with high statistical significance by including results from GLAST MeV scanning observations, and into the radio range with 8.4 and 22 GHz TANAMI and 4.8, 8.6, 17, 19, 38, and 40 GHz ATCA monitoring. The resulting Radio/IR/INTEGRAL/GLAST SED will allow for evaluating nuclear jet models, such as the spine-sheath stratified jet model. These detailed results can then be the basis for modeling other, more distant radio galaxies and quasars.

Mission Description The INTEGRAL (International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory) mission, launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) on October 17, 2002, was designed to study high-energy phenomena in the universe. INTEGRAL was operating until february 2025 and it was equipped with three high-energy instruments: the Imager on Board the INTEGRAL Satellite (IBIS), the Spectrometer on INTEGRAL (SPI), and the JEM-X (Joint European Monitor for X-rays). Its Optical Monitoring Camera (OMC) provided optical V-band magnitude measurements, complementing the high-energy observations.
