We propose to investigate the physical, chemical and dynamical properties of a sample of newly found high-mass pre- and proto-stellar cores identified by the Herschel infrared GALactic Plane Survey (Hi-GAL; Molinari et al. 2010). We will performobservations of the o-NH3(1_0-0_0) line (and, simultaneously, also ofthe o-H2O(1_10-1_01) transition) that willallow us to identify both similarities and differences between the physical and chemical conditions before and after the formation of a warm/hot source inside the dusty core identified in the SPIRE/PACS maps. Hence, these observations will improve our knowledge of the earliest phases in the evolution of high-mass stars. We will also attempt the detection of the NH(1-0) line towards a smaller sample ofsources, in order to improve our knowledge of the N-chemistry during early high-mass star formation. |
